The simplistic and intuitive calculator shows the amount of duty using the new tax duty system also known as Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT), effective from the 4th of December 2014.
Also supports the calculation of Higher rates of Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) on purchases of additional residential properties as published on 28 December 2015.
The latest version also includes the option to calculate the Stamp Duty for Scotland, also known as Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) which applies in Scotland from the 1st of April 2015.
Stamp duty land tax is a lump-sum tax, paid to the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), that property or land purchasers, in the United Kingdom (UK), have to pay if the property's value exceeds a certain amount. The rate you'll have to pay varies based on the price and the type of the property.
